ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Ursinus Bears men's lacrosse team suffered an 18-8 setback to No. 19 Muhlenberg on Wednesday night in Centennial Conference action.

Tyler Falco got the Bears on the board and the initial lead just 33 seconds into the contest before the Mules countered with three-straight goals to go up 3-1 at the 9:07-mark of the first quarter. Senior
Jeremy Calabro ended the Mules run at the 7:08-mark with his first goal of the game, but Muhlenberg countered two minutes later to go up 4-2. Calabro added another tally at the 2:55-mark and the Mules responded on a man-up opportunity just over a minute later to go back up two at 5-3 into the second quarter. Muhlenberg extended their advantage to 6-3 at the 12:31-mark and senior
Jake Ojert notched the Bears first goal in the second quarter just over two minutes later to make it a 6-4 game. Senior
Eddie Newman cut the Mules lead down to one at 6-5 with 5:20 left in the first half, but the Mules snatched momentum right back with back-to-back goals to go up 8-5. Calabro ended the quarter with his third goal of the half to send the score to 8-6 at the half. Muhlenberg then took control of the game in the second half by out-scoring the Bears 10-2 in the final 30 minutes.
The Mules held a slight 46-45 advantage in shots and 28-21 edge in shots on goal. Ursinus held a 28-25 advantage in ground balls while the Mules won 16 of the 28 faceoffs. The Bears used two goalkeepers in the game as junior
Jonathan Singer suffered the loss after making nine saves and allowing 17 goals in 54:12 minutes of action. Senior
Quinn Watson made one save and allowed one goal in 5:48 of action. Max May tallied the win for the Mules with 12 saves and eight goals allowed in 54:12. Calabro led the Bears with a team-high three goals.
The Bears return to action Saturday, April 15th as they will travel to face Franklin & Marshall at 1:00 p.m.
