Men's Lacrosse Battles No. 6 Dickinson on Senior Day

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Lacrosse team held strong No. 6 Dickinson in their regular season finale on Saturday afternoon before ultimately falling 15-10 in Centennial Conference action at Patterson Field.
 
 
The team concludes their regular season at 7-8 overall and 2-6 in Centennial Conference action. Prior to the contest the team honored its eight seniors as a part of senior day ceremonies. Meanwhile, the Red Devils record moved to 13-3 overall and 7-1 in Centennial Conference action while locking up the top seed in the upcoming Centennial Men's Lacrosse Tournament.
 
 
Dickinson jumped out to a 4-0 lead at the 3:46-mark of the first quarter before senior Tyler Neal ended the run 39 seconds later with his first goal of the day. The Red Devils added two more goals to go up 6-1 early in the second quarter and senior Chase Rondeau led a rush and netted a tally for the Bears at the 10:11-mark of the second quarter to make it 6-2. Dickinson countered the Rondeau goal with two more goals of their own to go up 8-2 at the 6:25-mark and answered a second Neal score of the first half and took a 9-3 lead into the half.
 
 
The teams each scored a goal to open the second half as Neal netted his third for the Bears and Dickinson answered again to take their largest lead of the game at 11-4 with 5:09 left in the third quarter. However, Senior Jeremy Calabro kept things interesting by closing out the third quarter with back-to-back goals to make it an 11-6 game headed into the fourth. The Red Devils tallied the first goal of the final quarter before Calabro and Neal went back-to-back, making it a four-goal game at 12-8 with 13:05 left in regulation. However, Dickinson ultimately put the game away with three-straight goals to go up 15-8 at the 8:17-mark. Sophomore Christopher Pucciarelli and senior Tyler Falco added goals for the Bears in the final four minutes of the contest to conclude the game.
 
 
Dickinson held a slight 45-42 advantage in total shots for the game and a 27-22 edge in shots on goal. The Bears held a 33-28 edge in ground balls and a decisive 20-9 advantage in faceoff wins behind a strong effort from freshman Nils Updale and sophomore Dominic Nattoli at faceoff X. A pair of Bears goalkeepers saw action in the contest as senior Quinn Watson started and suffered the loss after making five saves in 31:04 of action. Junior Jonathan Singer recorded seven saves in 28:56 of action in the second half. Chris Brandau earned the win for Dickinson after making 12 saves in the full 60 minutes.
 
 
Neal led all scorers with six points behind four goals and two assists in the game. Calabro netted three goals while Pucciarelli tallied two points on a goal and an assist. Six Red Devils recorded at least two goals in the game and Skyler Schluter posted four points behind three assists and one goal
