COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Ursinus Bears men's tennis team battled before eventually falling to No. 29 Swarthmore 9-0 on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference play.

With the loss, the Bears dropped to 11-4 overall and 2-3 in Centennial Conference play. Meanwhile, the Garnet improved to 7-3 overall and 4-0 in conference play.

Swarthmore won all three of the doubles points to take an early 3-0 lead in the match. Senior

Andrei Bogdan dropped an 8-3 match at No. 3 doubles to Phil Rehwinkel and Graham Hadesman before juniors

Ethan Yu suffered an 8-2 setback to Max Lindstrom and Rushil Patel at the No. 2 spot. Juniors
Lars Jespersen and
Will Oberholtzer valiantly battled before falling 8-4 at No. 1 doubles to Michael Melnikov and Utham Koduri.

In singles, Bogdan was defeated by Rehwinkel 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 5 spot while Mandel suffered a 6-2, 6-0 setback to Hadesman at the No. 6 spot which clinched the match for the Garnet. Jespersen was bested by Melnikov 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and Oberholtzer was downed by Lindstrom at the No. 2 position 6-1, 6-0. Yu dropped a 6-1, 6-2 match to Koduri at the No. 3 spot and Rogers went toe-to-toe with Patel before losing a heartbreaking 6-4, 2-6, (10-7) match at No. 4 singles. Â
