GAME 1: Ursinus 8, McDaniel 3
Sophomore
Samantha Mallen led off the game with a double down the left field line and came around to score following a pair of fielder's choices off ground balls. The Green Terror evened the score at one in the bottom half of the inning before the Bears countered with a run in the top of the second when junior
Madison Wilson hit a two-out double to score Mallen on second. After a pair of hits put runners on second and third in the top of the third, junior
Sara Sullivan roped a double to right center to extend the Bears lead to 4-1. McDaniel loaded the bases in the bottom of the third and scored two runs off a single to cut the deficit down to 4-3. However, Bears first-year pitcher
Christa Andrusiewicz shook off the tough start to the inning and retired the next three batters to keep Ursinus in front. The fourth inning went scoreless, and the Bears added three more runs in the top of the fifth to go up 7-3. First-year
Kayla Carr ripped a double down the left field line after Panati and senior
Jordan Moore singled before junior
Sarah DiLello tripled to score the next two runs. Ursinus added another run in the seventh after a fielding error by the McDaniel catcher, which was more than enough for Andrusiewicz, who retired the side to close the game.
GAME 2: Ursinus 10, McDaniel 2
After two scoreless innings to open the game, the Bears struck for three runs in the top of the third to take the lead. Sophomore
Stephanie Wichman doubled home Wilson from first before a single from Panati following walk brought in the second run. Sullivan singled to load the bases which allowed Carr to get the third run home with a sacrifice fly. The Green Terror countered with a two-run home run in the bottom of the third to make it a 3-2 game, but the Bears quickly answered with a run of their own in the top of the fourth after a pair of errant throws following a fly out allowed DiLello to score from third. First-year pitcher
Riley Coneeny entered the circle for Wichman in the fifth inning and escaped a second and third jam with two outs by getting a swinging strikeout. Carr homered on the first pitch of the top of the sixth to make it a 5-2 game and Wichman extended the lead to 6-2 by lifting a sacrifice fly to right field. Ursinus broke the game open in the top of the seventh by scoring four runs off three hits and two errors. With runners on second and third base, Moore snuck single through to score Panati and DiLello followed with a double for the second run of the inning.
