Ursinus went up 8-6 following an attack error, but the Blue Jays went on their first big run of the set by winning six-straight points to go up 12-8. An ace from sophomore Mel Eglinton pulled Ursinus within two at 12-10 until Johns Hopkins won seven of the next eight points to go up 19-11 to force a timeout. Hopkins pulled up to a 23-14 advantage before the Bears made one last rally behind winning four-straight points off a pair of aces from Bernard and kills from Spotts. The Blue Jays ended the rally by taking the last two points.
