COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-19, 25-11, 25-18) straight set match to Gettysburg on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference action.

Rachel Bernard led the Bears with 18 assists.
Ursinus gained the early advantage in the first set at 4-1 before the Bullets won five straight to go up 6-4. Gettysburg worked its lead out to 10-7, but the Bears won six of the next seven points to take a 13-11 advantage. Gettysburg countered by winning six of seven of their own to go up 17-14 and fended off two Bears runs to win the first set at 25-19.
The Bears started with the lead again by taking the first three points of the second set. However, Gettysburg won five straight of their own and extended its lead to 10-5. Ursinus trailed by 15-10 before the Bullets took control of the second set by winning 10 of the next 11 points.
The teams traded runs to open the third set which left the Bears up at 6-4 early on. Ursinus tied the set at 10 before Gettysburg used a decisive run of seven straight points to go up 17-10. The Bears closed within three points at 19-16 but would get no further to the Bullets the rest of the set.
The Bears return to action on Wednesday, October 30th as they will host Haverford at 7:30 p.m.
