COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Women's Tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss to Division II Chestnut Hill on Thursday afternoon at the Ace Bailey Tennis Courts in its season-opening match.
The Griffins won all three doubles matches to earn the new lone doubles point after rule changes in the offseason to the Division III match scoring. Senior

Katarina Yu dropped a 6-1 decision to Alison Isaac and Lilian Bandel the No. 1 spot. Senior
Shannon Stewart and junior
Bella Vassalluzzo suffered an 8-0 setback to Elena ArenasGuisasol and Anisha Reddy Thada at the No. 3 position before sophomores
Morgan Coupe and
Caroline Daly fell 6-0 to Romi Meirovich and Claudia Rasilla at No. 2 doubles.
In singles, Yu was downed by Bandel at the No. 2 position 0-6, 0-6 while Coupe suffered a 0-6, 0-6 loss to Meirovich at No. 4 singles. Stewart fell 1-6, 2-6 to Rasilla at the No. 5 spot and junior
Fiona Finnerty dropped an 0-6, 2-6 decision to Thada at No. 6 singles. Daly was downed 0-6 4-6 by Langer at the No. 3 spot while Armour dropped a tough 6-7, 7-3, 4-10 match to Mary Beth Hurley at No. 1 singles.
Ursinus returns to action on Saturday, October 5th as they will host Neumann at 2:00 p.m. for their last match of the fall portion of their season.
