MEDIA, Pa. – The Ursinus College Women's Basketball team earned a dominant 71-43 win over Penn State Brandywine in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Bears improved to 5-2 overall after a perfect 3-0 week. Meanwhile, the Nittany Lions fell to 1-3 overall.

Chinwe Irondi recorded her fifth double-double in seven games by posting a game-high 21 points behind going 8-of-11 from the field and grabbed 13 rebounds. Sophomore
Colleen Blackman added 12 points behind going a near perfect 4-of-5 from three-point range and junior
Madison Smith tallied 10 points. Junior
Makenna Foder recorded a career-high nine assists to pace the Bears offense.
The Bears never fell behind in the contest but were tied just once in the opening minute at two before going on a 10-3 run to go up 12-5 at the 4:05-mark of the first quarter. Blackman capped the first quarter with a three-pointer in the final minute to give Ursinus a 15-9 lead after one. Ursinus held a 20-14 lead at the 6:52-mark of the second quarter before blowing the game open with a 17-2 run to go up 37-16 at the 1:34-mark of the second quarter. Blackman and Irondi added five more points for the Bears in the final minute to give Ursinus a 42-18 lead at halftime.
Ursinus continued to add to its lead in the second half as they opened the third quarter on a 13-2 run to go up 55-20 at the 5:46-mark. A layup from junior
Jaycie Miller gave the Bears their largest lead of the game at 61-24 with 3:16 left in the third and they left the quarter with a 63-29 lead. Three different players scored in the fourth quarter for the Bears as they capped off their third win of the week.
The Bears shot 42.6 percent from the field (26-of-61) behind going 66.7 percent from the field in the second quarter and 52.9 percent in the third. Ursinus went 5-of-16 (31.3%) from three-point range and 66.7 percent (14-of-21) from the free throw line. Meanwhile, the Nittany Lions went just 27.7 percent from the field (18-of-65) and 23.1 percent (3-of-13) from three-point range. Ursinus held a 48-43 advantage in rebounds and scored 26 points off 17 Brandywine turnovers.
Ursinus returns to action on Tuesday, November 26th as they will host Eastern at 6:00 p.m.
