COLLEGEVILLE, Pa .- The Ursinus Men's Basketball team put together a complete performance as they dominated Gettysburg 78-59 in their home regular season finale on Saturday afternoon at Helfferich Hall.

Prior to the contest, the Bears honored its lone graduating senior
Beau Everett as part of senior day ceremonies.

With the win, the Bears improved to 12-11 overall and leveled their Centennial Conference record to 8-8. Ursinus also locked up a berth in the Centennial Conference Tournament with today's win and sits fifth in the conference standings with two games to go. Six teams will qualify for the Centennial Conference Tournament. Meanwhile, the Bullets who entered the game tied for first in the Centennial Conference and was receiving 22 votes in the latest D3hoops.com poll, fell to 17-6 overall while being 13-3 in conference play.

A big reason for the Bears success was due to a balanced scoring attack that saw eight players record at least six points. Sophomore
Mohamed Toure led the way with a career-high 17 points behind a perfect day of 5-of-5 from the field, 3-of-3 from beyond the arc, and 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Sophomore
Nick Nocito added 10 points, five rebounds, and two assists while three players (Everett,
Luke Nieman, and
Matthew Field) all recorded nine points apiece.

Gettysburg gained the early advantage after junior
Marlin Wise initially got the Bears on the board and took a 10-6 lead at the 14:31-mark of the first half. However, Ursinus began to turn the tide with a 16-6 run that gave them a 22-16 lead at the 8:08-mark. The Bullets hit their lone three-pointer of the first half to cut the Bears lead down to 28-24 at the 4:09-mark before Ursinus stormed away with 11 straight points to go up 39-24 with 1:27 remaining. Gettysburg did close the first half with the final four points to make it a 39-28 game.

That last minute momentum for the Bullets did not carry into the second half as the Bears opened the final 20 minutes with a 9-2 burst to go up 48-30 at the 16:30-mark. Ursinus eventually worked that run up to 17-4 and stretched its lead out to an astonishing 22 points at 56-34 with 12:29 remaining in regulation. Ursinus continued to answer any move Gettysburg had on both sides of the floor in the second half and did not their lead fall below 18 points for the remainder of the contest. The Bears held a lead by as many as 24 points with 2:32 remaining in the contest.

The Bears shot 45.2 percent (28-of-62) from the field and 29.4 percent (5-of-17) from three-point range. Ursinus went 73.9 percent (17-of-23) from the free throw line and held a decisive 43-30 rebounding advantage. Meanwhile, the Bullets shot 34 percent (17-of-50) from the field after shooting just 26.9 percent in the second half. Gettysburg went 4-of-17 (23.5%) from three-point range and 75 percent (21-of-28) from the free throw line.
