Men's Tennis Sweeps Past St. John Fisher and King's

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Ursinus Men's Tennis team dominated its way through a pair of matches on Tuesday down at the Oak Street Park Tennis Courts in Florida.
 
 
The Bears swept both St. John Fisher and King's 9-0 on the day to improve their record to 4-1 overall and 3-0 down on the spring break trip.

The Bears swept through the doubles matches in convincing fashion. The No. 2 doubles team of seniors Darby Rogers and Ethan Yu downed the duo of Anthony Molosag and Zach DeCaro 8-0 before seniors Lars Jespersen and Will Oberholtzer followed with an 8-0 triumph over Tyler Hernandez and Will Chubb at the No. 1 doubles spot. Senior Storm Snape and junior Hunter Murray won an 8-7, 7-5 thriller at No. 3 doubles over Mika'il Iqbal and Anthony Mendoza. First-year Teddy Snyder bested Iqbal in straight sets while classmate Deniz Finkel followed suit over Mendoza at No. 4 singles for the match clinching point. Dichter also won in straight sets at No. 6 singles over DeCaro and sophomore Andrei Bogdan cruised past Ryan Wilson 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. Rogers took down Chubb 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 2 spot and Jespersen defeated Hernandez 6-2, 6-2 to close out the match.

The Bears won all but three available points in their doubles matches over the Monarchs. The duo of Finkel and Snyder won 8-0 at the No. 2 position over Brendan Turowski and Cody Zheng while Dichter and Snape triumphed by the same total over Alex Nole and Zackary Bedwell at No. 3 doubles. Jespersen and Oberholtzer bested Logan Gregory and Patrick Pech at No. 1 singles, 8-3. A trio of Bears swept their opponents in straight-set singles matches. Rogers defeated Turowski at No. 3 singles in straight sets as did Murray at No. 5 singles over Nole and Dichter over Bedwell at the No. 6 position. Bogdan took down Zheng 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles before Yu defeated Pech 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 2 spot. Jespersen closed the day out with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Gregory at No. 1 singles.
 
 
 
Ursinus is back in action on Thursday, March 7th as they will take on Concordia-Minnesota at 7:30 a.m.
