ORLANDO, Fla. – The Ursinus Men's Tennis team completed an unblemished Florida Spring Break Trip with a thrilling 5-4 win over St. John's on Friday at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Campus.
With the win the Bears improved to 6-1 overall after going 5-0 down in Florida this week. Meanwhile, the Johnnies fell to 1-5 overall.
The teams started with singles action and the teams split it at three apiece to head into doubles action tied. Four of the six singles match went into a tiebreaker set to set the stage for a thrilling match. First-year
Teddy Snyder kept his unbeaten singles streak to start his career with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Daniel Perez at No. 4 singles. First-year
Deniz Finkel suffered a tough 6-0, 3-6, 6-10 setback to Mark Rosen at No. 5 singles before sophomore
Andrei Bogdan outlasted Cooper Anderson 4-6, 7-5, 10-7 at the No. 6 spot. Senior
Darby Rogers was edged 4-6, 6-4, 5-10 by Sam Wolden at No. 3 singles and senior
Lars Jespersen lost 6-3, 4-6, 8-10 to Ryan Will. Senior
Ethan Yu capped a perfect singles week in Florida with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Ian Aadland at the No. 2 position.

Will Oberholtzer won a highly-contested 8-7 (7-3) tiebreaker match over Aadland and Will at the No. 1 spot. Snyder and Finkel were edged 8-6 by Anderson and Taylor Duncan which made the No. 2 doubles match the decisive one. Yu and Rogers came through with an 8-7 (9-7) thriller over Will Deters and Alex Draeger to win the match for the Bears.
Ursinus will return to action on Saturday, March 16th as they will host Marymount (Va.) at 1:00 p.m. in dual match action.
