COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. –The Ursinus Bears men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 Centennial Conference match to Franklin & Marshall on Tuesday afternoon.
F&M won three competitive doubles points to take an early 3-0 lead in the match with two of them coming from tiebreakers. Seniors
Lars Jespersen and
Will Oberholtzer dropped an 3-8 match to Zac Ashtiani and S. Rudin-Aulenbach at the No. 1 doubles spot before seniors
Darby Rogers and
Ethan Yu dropped an 7-8 (5-7) heartbreaker to Luke Brodsky and Campbell Gervais. First-years
Teddy Snyder and
Deniz Finkel suffered a similar fate at the No. 3 doubles spot by dropping a 7-8 (8-10) match to Pedro Norte and Dylan Maudsley.
In singles, Daniel Feigelson earned the first point by defeating 2-6, 1-6 at No. 4 singles and Norte locked up the match for F&M with a 4-6, 0-6 win over Snyder at the No. 5 spot. Samuel Donnelly defeated Rogers 4-6, 3-6 at No. 3 singles before Jespersen dropped a 3-6, 4-6 match at No. 1 singles to Brodsky. Finkel lost 4-6, 3-6 loss to Rudin-Aulenbach at No. 6 singles while Yu suffered a tough 6-3, 5-7, (8-10) setback to Ashtiani at the No. 2 spot.
The Bears will return to action on Saturday, April 13th as they will travel to face No. 10 Swarthmore at 10:00 a.m.
