COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Lacrosse team was downed 10-8 by Muhlenberg on Wednesday night in Centennial Conference action at Patterson Field.
The Bears used a pair of turnovers to take an early 2-0 lead at the 13:28-mark of the first quarter. Senior
Drake Kasoff opened the scoring after taking advantage of a failed clear and sophomore
Harry Sweitzer scored shortly after an ensuing faceoff win. Muhlenberg scored four straight goals to go up 4-2 in the first quarter before sophomore
Barrett Denlinger ended the run with a goal at the 2:13-mark. The Mules got a goal with two seconds left in the first quarter and senior
Eddie Newman scored the lone goal of the second quarter that made it 5-4 at halftime. Junior
Christopher Pucciarelli initially tied the game at five with a goal at the 13:47-mark of the third quarter. Muhlenberg took the lead back at 6-5 and sophomore
Nicholas Grahame tied the game back at six with 1:26 left in the third quarter following a quick clear goal. However, a four-goal stretch by the Mules to open the fourth quarter was the decisive run in the game.
The Mules held a 43-34 shot advantage for the game and a 23-18 edge in shots on goal. Muhlenberg held a 40-31 ground ball edge and 12-10 advantage in faceoff wins. Senior goalkeeper
Jonathan Singer made 13 saves for the Bears in the full 60 minutes while Stephen Krug tallied 10 saves in the full time.
Ursinus returns to action on Saturday, April 13th as they will host Franklin & Marshall in Centennial Conference action at 12:00 p.m.
