COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Tennis team dropped a 7-2 Centennial Conference match to Washington College on Tuesday afternoon at the Bailey Tennis Courts.
The Shoremen swept the doubles points to go up 3-0 in the match. The No. 1 doubles duo of
Lars Jespersen and
Will Oberholtzer were defeated 8-5 by Karl Hoegstedt and Aaradith Ravichandran and first-years
Noah Dichter and
Deniz Finkel suffered an 8-4 setback to Tichi Chialva and Jorge Urgal Zuleta. Seniors
Darby Rogers and
Ethan Yu fell 8-4 to Ryohei Kawai and Kohl Perkins at the No. 2 doubles spot.
In singles, Jespersen lost 4-6, 1-6 to Hoegstedt at No. 1 singles and Obertholtzer dropped a 6-7, 2-6 match to Ravichandran at No. 4 singles that locked up the match for the Shoremen. Rogers dropped a tough 4-6, 5-7 No. 3 singles match to Perkins before Finkel bested Chialva 7-5, 7-6 to get the Bears on the board. Snyder won a hard-fought 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 match over Zuleta at the No. 5 spot and Yu suffered a 7-6, 1-6, 4-6 setback to Kawai at No. 2 singles.
The Bears return to action on Friday, April 19th as they will host Drew at 3:30 p.m. in their last non-conference match of the season.
