COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Tennis team picked up its second 7-0 win in as many days by taking down Arcadia on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
The win completes a 3-0 week to open the fall season for the Bears while the Knights fell to 2-2.
The Bears took the doubles point by winning two of the three matches. Senior
Andrei Bogdan and first-year
Bogdan Maksimovic rolled past Leo Dupont and Stas Bazarov 6-0 at No. 3 doubles before juniors
Teddy Snyder and
Deniz Finkel dropped a tough No. 1 doubles match to Aaron Allen and Bernardo Figueiredo 6-4. Junior
Noah Dichter and sophomore
Russell Nour outlasted Kevin McHale and Luis Figueiredo 6-4 at No. 2 doubles to clinch the point for the Bears.
Singles play was all Ursinus as they won all six matches. Sophomore
Charles DiCicco downed Luis Figueirdo 6-4, 6-1 at the No. 4 singles spot before Finkel took down Allen 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 2 spot. Dichter bested McHale 6-3, 4-6, 10-4 at No. 3 singles to clinch the match and Snyder won a thriller 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) over Bernardo Figueirdo at the No. 1 position. Nour rolled past Dupont 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 singles and Maksimovic defeated Bazarov 8-5 at the No. 6 position.
Ursinus wraps its fall schedule next Saturday, October 18
th as they will travel to face Moravian at 12:00 p.m.
