COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Women's Tennis team wrapped up its fall season by defeating Arcadia 7-0 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
The win completes a 3-0 week to open the season for the Bears while the Knights fell to 0-4.
The Bears swept the doubles matches to gain the first point of the match. Senior
Kate Rubinkam and junior
Morgan Coupe swept past Nicole Scannapieco and Michelle Planita 6-0 at the No. 3 doubles spot before senior
Bella Vassalluzzo and junior
Caroline Daly bested Jaelyn DaSilva and Jessie Friel 6-4 at the No. 2 spot. Sophomore
Katie Yu and first-year
Mariah Mays then took down Cynthia Li and Jada Young 6-4 at the No. 1 doubles spot.
Coupe got things started in singles play by defeating Jessie Friel 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 4 singles spot and Mays earned a 6-2, 6-1 win over DeSilva at the No. 3 spot. Daly outlasted Young 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 singles before Yu took down Li 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 1 singles position. Rubinkam tallied a 6-1, 6-0 win over Scannapieco at No. 5 singles and Vassalluzzo swept past Higgins 6-0, 6-0 to complete the match at nO. 6 singles.
Ursinus returns to action on Wednesday, March 11
th as they will open their spring schedule with TCNJ at 12:00 p.m.
