GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Ursinus men's soccer team fell 3-2 against Gettysburg College on Saturday evening, in a conference match at Clark Field.

The loss dropped the Bears to 3-9-2 overall, and 0-6 in conference play. Gettysburg improved to 9-4-2 overall, and 3-1-2 in conference action.

The opening minutes were a tight affair, as the Bullets provided consistent offensive pressure, but the Bears held strong defensively to keep the game scoreless. It was the Bullets who opened the scoring in the 21st minute though, as midfielder Cameron Linnington found a Blake James corner and scored his fourth goal of the season. Gettysburg piled on just a minute and 40 seconds of game action later, as forward Diallo Cowan got a steal in Bears' territory and navigated past junior goalie
Josiah Moore for the goal. The score gave Gettysburg an early 2-0 advantage.

Gettysburg continued to attack offensively, but the Bears' found their spark late in the first half. A missed free kick opportunity deflected back to first-year forward Elliot Bowen, who made an excellent pass to first-year forward
Sean McFadden, which was passed off to sophomore defender Teddy Polluta for the score in the 35th minute. Both teams battled, but the half ended with Gettysburg still holding a 2-1 advantage.

The Bullets got out to a fast start to begin the second half, as Cowan continued his stellar showing. He drove the length of the pitch, converting a soaring goal attempt to put Gettysburg up 3-1 in the 49th minute. The Bears kept fighting, however, earning multiple corner kick opportunities but unable to convert. They finally found the back of the net in the 64th minute, as senior midfielder

Matthew Lohr. The Bullets delivered strong defense in the last 26 minutes, however, holding Ursinus out of the goal despite multiple opportunities late. A final corner kick with 16 seconds left in the game soared to the left of the goal, and the Bears took the loss with time expiring.

The Bullets held a 15-10 shot advantage, and a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal. The Bears, however, earned a 12-3 advantage on corners. Gettysburg goalie Sean Kennedy got the win, with three saves. Moore took the loss for the Bears, recording six saves.

Ursinus will return home to Patterson Field on Wednesday, to take on the Franklin and Marshall Diplomats at 7:30 p.m.
