COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Field Hockey team dropped a competitive 2-0 battle to No. 3 Johns Hopkins on a beautiful early October afternoon at the Snell Alumnae Field in Centennial Conference play.
The Blue Jays jumped right on the Bears just 2:54 into the game when they converted a second chance opportunity for a goal to make it 1-0 after a penalty corner. However, the Bears began to push back on Johns Hopkins and had a pair of quality chances saved in the 10
th minute. Ursinus continued to hang with the Blue Jays in the second quarter and junior
Maddie Rogers had a shot turned away from a penalty corner before halftime.
The Bears staved off a trio of penalty corners in the opening minute from the Blue Jays and nearly tied the game in the 33
rd minute when a shot from junior
Kirsten Johnson was sent left of a wide-open cage. Johns Hopkins responded to the rush four minutes later with their second goal of the game. Bears senior goalkeeper Adrianna Palladinetti came up huge on a pair of shots in the fourth quarter to keep Ursinus in the game, but the Bears managed just one shot in the fourth quarter.
Johns Hopkins held a 14-8 shot advantage for the game and a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Blue Jays also held a slight 8-6 edge in penalty corners. Palladinetti made five saves in the 60 minutes while Aubrey Kilgore played 45 minutes and made two saves for the Blue Jays.

th as they will take on Haverford at 7:00 p.m.
