BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Basketball team dominated Hunter College 86-34 in their opening game of the Moravian Steel Club Classic on Monday night.
With the win, the Bears advance to face the host Greyhounds in the Championship Game tomorrow night at 5:30 p.m. The 52-point margin was the largest win for the Bears since they defeated Washington College by 47 (92-45) on February 6

Jasper Buck had a career night for the Bears as he led all scorers with 18 points off the bench behind going 6-of-12 from the field and grabbed two rebounds. Sophomore
Jamie Murphy tallied 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting while adding five steals, four assists, and three rebounds. Senior
Mohamed Toure nearly had a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds while first-year
Lucas Mushrush nearly had double-digit scoring at nine points on 3-of-4 shooting.
After the teams traded points in the opening four minutes, the Bears broke ahead by going on a 16-2 run to go up 22-8 at the 10:31-mark. Ursinus continued to pour it on Hunter as they stretched their lead out to as many as 28 points multiple times in the first half. A 24-12 lead quickly turned into a 45-17 lead behind a 21-5 run with 4:10 left in the first half and they did not let their lead fall below 20 points the remainder of the game. The Bears immediately sent their lead over 30 points in the first 1:27 of the second half and reached a 40-point margin at 65-25 with 14:05 left in regulation. Through continued hot shooting and stifling defense, the Bears reached the 50-point margin with 3:44 left in the game and did not let it fall below that.
The Bears shot an even 50 percent (33-of-66) from the field behind shooting 63.3 percent in the first half and went 13-of-34 (38.2%) from three-point range. Ursinus went 7-of-11 (63.6%) from the free throw line and held a commanding 56-28 rebounding advantage. The Bears also scored 27 points off 21 Hunter turnovers. Meanwhile, the Hawks shot just 24.6 percent (14-of-57) from the field behind going just 3-of-27 (11.1%) in the second half. Hunter made just one three-pointer on 17 attempts and went 5-of-12 (41.7%) from the free throw line.
