WASHINGTON, D.C. – For the third straight week, the Ursinus Gymnastics team set a new season high team score as they competed against a loaded field at the George Washington Quad Meet with UW-La Crosse and Cornell on Sunday afternoon.
The Bears put together a consistent performance across the board to create a total of 190.625 behind scores of 47.700 on the vault, a season best of 47.150 on the bars, a season best of 47.875 on the beam, and 47.900 on the floor. George Washington won their meet with a team score of 196.550, Cornell followed with a 191.825, and NCGA West member UW-La Crosse was just ahead of the Bears with a 190.800.
Ursinus got things rolling on the beam and set their new benchmark score in the event for 2025 and was second to just George Washington among the four teams. Senior
Madison Zimmerman was dialed in again by posting a 9.750 to tie for eighth overall and has now posted the Bears top score on the beam in four of their last five meets. Sophomore
Lucy Warburton was next for Ursinus with her total of 9.625 and sophomore
Erin Roe started her All-Around day with a 9.6. Senior
Erin Stubbs earned a 9.550 and sophomore
Arianna Ellis followed with a score of 9.350.
The Bears went over to the floor and Ellis shined by matching her career best score of 9.725 for the event that tied her for 10th overall. Senior
Megan Matteucci continued her consistency on the floor with a 9.7 and Warburton finished third among the Bears with a 9.525. Senior
Isabella Scarpetti recorded a 9.5 and junior
Sidney Schreiber was right behind with a 9.450. Roe rounded out the Bears totals with a 9.4.
Roe made it seven-for-seven in leading the Bears in the vault this season by recording a 9.7 that tied her for seventh overall. Schreiber was second for Ursinus with a 9.6 and first-year
Michaela Duffy recorded a 9.575. Stubbs added a 9.475 to the Bears score while Zimmerman and Matteucci posted scores of 9.350 and 9.225, respectively.
Ursinus had its best showing on the bars to date with a consistent performance led by Roe, who recorded a 9.625 that was just shy of her career best. Roe ended the day with an All-Around total of 38.325 that placed her third overall. Warburton blitzed her previous best on the bars with a 9.6 and sophomore
Lauren Coleman was third on the Bears with a 9.350. Junior
Brianna Duffy finished with a 9.3 and Matteucci followed with a 9.275. First-year
Alzachria Jackson rounded out the Ursinus scores on the bars with a 9.0.
The Bears return to action on Saturday, February 23rd as they will host a quad meet for senior day with West Chester, Bridgeport, and William & Mary starting at 1:00 p.m.
