Much like the regular season between the two squads, the Diplomats went wire-to-wire in the contest and never trailed behind scoring the first six points of the game. Ursinus worked the deficit down to one point at 8-7 with 14:09 left in the first half before the Diplomats responded with a 13-2 run to go up 21-9 at the 10:09-mark. F&M continued to pull away as they built a lead by as many as 22 points at 37-15 with 3:11 left in the first half and held a 43-21 lead at halftime.

The Diplomats maintained their lead out to 48-26 at the 17:23-mark of the second half and were up 53-34 at the 13:42-mark. Ursinus began to rally as they used a 16-8 run to make it a 54-42 game with 10:58 left in regulation. Down 60-46 with 7:49 left, the Bears scored seven straight points to get the deficit into single digits at 60-53 and a three-pointer from Wise made it a 63-58 game with 2:58 left in regulation. However, the Bears would get no closer the rest of the way.

The Bears shot 40.4 percent (21-of-52) from the field that was combined with shooting just 26.1 percent in the first half and 51.7 percent in the second half. Ursinus went just 27.3 percent (6-of-22) from three-point range and 57.1 percent (16-of-28) from the free throw line. The Diplomats shot an even 50 percent (24-of-48) from the field behind going 56.7 percent in the first half and went 47.1 percent (8-of-17) from three-point range.
