ORLANDO, Fla. – The Ursinus Women's Tennis team tallied its second straight win as they defeated Loras 6-1 on their Florida Spring Break trip on Thursday morning.
With the win the Bears improved to 3-3 overall while the Duhawks fell to 7-14.
Ursinus gained the doubles point after taking two of the three matches. Senior

Bella Vassalluzzo opened with a 6-1 No. 2 doubles win over Leia Papanicholas and Ellie Kalina before first-year
Katie Yu and sophomore
Morgan Coupe were bested 6-2 by Mary Breitbach and Dorothy Deans at the No. 1 spot. Sophomore
Caroline Daly and first-year
Fiona Finnerty outlasted Alexis Tatum and Caroline Hutchinson at No. 3 doubles in a tiebreaker 7-6 (7-4).
Coupe dropped a 1-6, 1-6 No. 4 singles match against Hutchinson, but it was all Bears from there as they won five straight singles points. Yu defeated Papnicholas 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 3 spot and Daly followed by besting Deans 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. Armour clinched the match with a 6-3, 1-6, 10-6 win over Breitbach at the No. 1 spot and Vassalluzzo won 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 6 position over Tatum. Junior
Kate Rubinkam finished things off with a 4-6, 6-3, 10-7 win over Kalina at No. 5 singles.
Ursinus returns to action tomorrow, March 14th as they will conclude their Florida trip against Northwestern (MN) at 1:30 p.m. at the USTA National Tennis Center.
