ORLANDO, Fla. – The Ursinus Women's Tennis team finished its Florida Spring Break trip by defeating Northwestern (MN) 4-3 on Friday afternoon at the UTSA National Center.
With the win, the Bears improved to 4-3 overall behind its third straight win to complete the week 3-2. Meanwhile, the Eagles fell to 4-6 overall.
The Bears won two of three of the doubles matches to gain the first point. Senior

Bella Vassalluzzo won a decisive 6-1 No. 1 doubles match over Abby Johnson and Aby Ross before sophomore
Morgan Coupe and first-year
Katie Yu locked up the point with a 6-2 victory over Paige Johnson and Elise Jarchow at the No. 2 spot. Junior
Fiona Finnerty and sophomore
Julia Nitz dropped a tough 6-4 No. 3 doubles contest to Caitlyn Swigart and Isabelle Sullivan.
Ursinus solidified the win right from the jump in singles action behind winning the first three matches. Armour bested Abby Johnson 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 1 spot and junior
Kate Rubinkam swept past Swigart 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. Vassalluzzo clinched the match for Ursinus with a 6-1, 6-1 No. 6 singles victory over Sullivan. Sophomore
Caroline Daly suffered a 6-1, 1-6, 6-10 No. 2 singles match to Paige Johnson and Yu lost a 5-7, 4-6 No. 3 singles match to Jarchow. Coupe dropped a 6-7 (4-7), 0-6 No. 4 singles match to Ross to conclude the day.
The Bears return to action on Wednesday, March 19th as they will travel to face Drew at 3:30 p.m.
