MADISON, N.J. – The Ursinus Men's Tennis team suffered a tough 4-3 setback to Drew in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.
Ursinus now holds a 5-4 record while Drew now sits at 4-4 overall.
Drew won two of the three doubles matches to earn the first point of the match. Junior
Andrei Bogdan and first-year
Devin Carter won their No. 3 doubles match 6-4 over Ty Gelijns and Owen Reynolds to open the match. Sophomores
Teddy Snyder and
Noah Dichter dropped a 6-1 No. 1 doubles match to Daniel Arcari and Jesse Faro before senior
Hunter Murray and first-year
Charles DiCicco lost 6-1 as well at the No. 2 spot to Sergey Kravchenko and Shivi Perera.
Bogdan leveled the match at one with his No. 3 singles win over Perera 6-0, 6-2 and first-year
Russell Nour followed with a 6-4, 6-2 win at the No. 4 spot over Gelijns 6-4, 6-2. Dichter suffered a 2-6, 0-6 setback at the No. 2 spot to Arcari, but DiCicco swept Kravchenko 6-0, 6-0 to put Ursinus one point away from the match win. Unfortunately for the Bears, Snyder dropped a 1-6, 5-7 match to Faro at the No. 1 singles spot and Murray lost 4-6, 3-6 to Kline at the No. 6 spot to give the last two points to Drew.
The Bears return to action on Saturday, March 22nd as they will travel to face Marymount (VA) at 12:00 p.m.
