ARLINGTON, Va. – The Ursinus Men's Tennis team bounced back with a resounding 6-1 win over Marymount (VA) on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
With the win, the Bears improved to 6-4 overall and the Saints dropped to 2-7.
Ursinus gained the doubles point by taking two of the three matches. Sophomore
Deniz Finkel and first-year
Charles DiCicco defeated Alex Hain and Jose Torrecillas at the No. 3 doubles spot 6-1 and sophomore
Teddy Snyder and first-year
Russell Nour secured the point with a 6-1 triumph over Emilio Escamilla and Gunek Singh at the No. 1 spot. Junior
Andrei Bogdan and first-year
Devin Carter dropped a tough 6-4 contest to Adam Stanulis and Eshan Degamwar at the No. 2 spot.
Bogdan won his No. 2 singles match over Torrecillas 6-2, 6-0 before Snyder lost his No. 1 singles match 1-6, 4-6 to Degamwar. Nour bested Escamilla 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 4 position and sophomore
Noah Dichter clinched the match for the Bears by defeating Singh 4-6, 6-4, 10-6 at the No. 3 spot. DiCicco took down Stanulis 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 5 singles spot and Carter defeated Tung Tran 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6 singles.
The Bears return to action on Wednesday, March 26th as they will host Wilkes at 4:00 p.m.
