READING, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Tennis team picked up a 6-1 victory over Albright in non-conference action on Friday afternoon.
With the win, the Bears improved to 8-4 overall behind its third straight win and the Lions dropped to 4-6 overall.
Ursinus swept through doubles play to earn the first point of the match. Sophomore
Deniz Finkel and first-year
Charles DiCicco rolled past Clay Lewandowski and Dominic Perch 6-1 at the No. 3 spot before junior
Andrei Bogdan and sophomore
Noah Dichter defeated Adam Good and Kobe Serpa 6-3 at the No. 2 position. Sophomore
Teddy Snyder and first-year
Russell Nour edged Gerardo Sanchez and Dylan Huha 7-5 at the No. 1 doubles spot.
The Bears closed out the win by winning five of the six singles points. Snyder defeated Good 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 1 singles spot and Finkel downed Sanchez 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 3 spot. Bogdan suffered the lone Bear loss of the day to Huha 7-5, 2-6, 7-10 at the No. 2 spot, but Dichter clinched the match for the Bears with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Lewandowski. Nour downed Serpa 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and DiCicco bested Buckley 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
Ursinus returns to action on Tuesday, April 2nd as they will open Centennial Conference play at Washington College at 3:00 p.m.
