COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Tennis team suffered a tough 4-3 setback to West Chester of Division II in non-conference action on Thursday afternoon.
West Chester swept the doubles matches to earn the first point of the match. Sophomores
Teddy Snyder and
Deniz Finkel dropped their No. 1 doubles match 6-1 to Brady Burns and Felix Weber to open the match. Junior
Andrei Bogdan and first-year
Devin Carter were defeated 6-1 at No. 3 doubles to Lucas Henke and Sam Robertson before sophomore
Noah Dichter and first-year
Russell Nour lost 6-4 at the No. 2 spot to Mateus DeVasconcellos and Andres Urrutia.
Bogdan was downed 2-6, 1-6 by Burns at No 3 singles and Dichter fell 5-6, 1-6 at the No. 4 spot to Weber. Snyder suffered a 4-6, 1-6 setback at the No. 1 singles spot to Henke before Finkel outlasted Urrutia 6-3, 1-6, 10-2 at the No. 2 spot for the first Ursinus win of the day. First-year
Charles DiCicco defeated Robertson 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 6 position and Nour took down DeVasconcellos 7-5, 6-4 at No. 5 singles.
Ursinus returns to action on Saturday, April 12th as they will travel to face Gettysburg now at 3:00 p.m. at the YACTA Indoor Courts in Hanover.
