Nocito Earns Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Honors

PHILADELPHIA – Ursinus Men's Basketball junior Nick Nocito was selected to the Philly-SIDA Men's Basketball Academic All-Area Team, announced by the organization on Tuesday morning.

To be nominated, student-athletes need to have at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA and have completed at least one full year of classes at their current institution. The team is voted on by the sports information offices of 30 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Nocito commanded the Bears offense as he ranked third on the team with a career best 12 points per game but yarded the Centennial Conference at 5.6 assists per game and 151 total assists. His efforts helped him earn All-Centennial honorable mention. Nocito was 1.4 assists clear of second place in the conference and by 46 total assists. He recorded three double-digit assist contests including a career-high of 11 to open the season and totaled 18 double-digit scoring outings. Nocito registered a career-high 39 points against FDU-Florham back in early December which helped him earn Centennial Conference player of the week honors. Nocito led the Centennial in Assist to turnover ratio at 3.4 and ranked fourth in the league in free throw percentage at 81.4 percent. He also earned his second straight College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District nod as well.

This is the first time in his career that Nocito earned a spot on the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area team, and he is the first Bear since Jon Ward in 2012 to be named to the team.
