LANCASTER, Pa. – Ursinus Women's Basketball senior guard Ava Possenti was named the Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Tuesday morning.

 
Possenti led the Bears to a perfect 3-0 record this week behind averages of 20.3 points, 7.0 steals, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.0 three-pointers per contest in victories over Penn State Brandywine, Muhlenberg, and Washington College. She shot a blistering 60% (9-for-15) from three-point land and 59% from the floor (23-for-39). On Wednesday against Muhlenberg, Possenti set a new career-high with 24-points, 10-steal double-double in the Bears' 81-37 road victory. She followed up by resetting her career best with 28 points, six rebounds, and five steals in the Bears' road victory over Washington College on Saturday. She scored 13 of her 28 points in the fourth quarter to give Ursinus the comeback victory.

 
The Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania native leads the Centennial, ranks third in Division III in steals (58), and steals per contest (4.83). She ranks second on the team in points per game (13.0), rebounds (4.4), and leads the team in three-point percentage (.358).

 
This is the first time in her career that Possenti has earned a weekly award from the Conference and the first Bears Women's Basketball athlete since Chinwe Irondi in January of last season to earn a player of the week award.

 
The Bears will return to action on Wednesday, January 14th as they host Haverford College for a Centennial Conference matchup starting at 4 p.m.
