COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Ursinus men's swim team earned five individual wins, but ultimately fell at home on Saturday to Stevens Institute of Technology, 170-90.

The loss drops the Bears to 4-6 on the season, while Stevens improved to 2-3 on the year.

The Bears got started with a second-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay, as a team of sophomore
Josh Travers, senior
Francesco D'Avella, junior
Jack Giuliana, and senior
David McCauley finished in 3:35.0.

First-year
Alexander Nicolai came through with the Bears' first win of the meet, winning the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:11.21. It was one of two individual wins for Nicolai, as he took victory in the 500-yard freestyle as well, with a time of 4:50.01.

McCauley earned third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.91, before Travers picked up the Bears' second win of the meet in the 100-yard freestyle (55.95). D'Avella then picked up a crucial second place finish for the Bears in 1:00.39 during the 100-yard breaststroke.

Giuliana earned a win in the 200-yard butterfly, coming in at 2:01.73. First-year
Jack Campbell (22.93) and sophomore
Quinn Grosvenor (23.60) then captured fourth and fifth respectively in the 50-yard freestyle. Giuliana (49.10) and D'Avella (50.70) gave the Bears a boost before the break, capturing third and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle.

Sophomores Travers and
Evan Wagner placed third in the 200-yard backstroke (2:06.20) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:22.95). Grosvenor (56.06) and Campbell (56.78) followed it up with third and fourth place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly.

The Bears finished the meet on a high note, with D'Avella winning the 200 IM in 2:03.71, and Travers finishing third with a 2:05.70. A team of Giuliana, Campbell, Nicolai, and McCauley ended the day with a third place in the 200 Freestyle Relay, with a time of 1:30.73.

Ursinus will return to action on Saturday, January 31st, hosting Washington College in a conference meet at home. The meet will begin at 1 P.M, and it will be the Bears' Senior Day.
