ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Ursinus women's soccer team outshot Muhlenberg, 26-9, but was unable to find the go-ahead goal, resulting in a scoreless draw against the Mules at Jeff Morris Field on Saturday afternoon.
With the draw, Ursinus moves to 5-3-2 on the season and 1-2-1 in Centennial Conference action. Meanwhile, the Mules sit at 4-4-2 overall and 0-2-1 in conference play.
The Bears opened the contest by pressuring the Mules' backline, with junior
Kaleigh Evans tallying the first shot at the 3:14 mark. Evans received a pass from first-year
Alexis Whaley, and her right-footed shot was saved by the Mules' netminder. Next, sophomores
Cora Kim and
Fiona Sanders each recorded shots for Ursinus, but Kim's opportunity missed wide right, while Sanders' shot was saved.
Evans and the Bears' offense continued to maintain possession and put shots on target, but each opportunity was turned away by the Mules as the contest entered halftime tied at zero. Junior

Abby Godown closed out the first half with shots on target for the Bears.
In the 48th minute, Muhlenberg tallied consecutive shots, with the first opportunity saved by the Bears' backline and the second missing wide right of the cage. Evans, Sanders and Whaley combined for the next five shots for Ursinus, with two of the opportunities being saved by the Mules' netminder. Ursinus continued the pressure into the second half but was unable to find the go-ahead goal, resulting in the scoreless draw.

Lexie Albaeck recorded her fourth career shutout, making one save, while Muhlenberg's Megan Stairs tallied a game-high 13 saves in 90 minutes of action.
The Bears return to action on Wednesday, hosting Washington College at Patterson Field at 7:30 p.m.
