COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – For the second time this season, junior
Erin Roe has been named the NCGA East Region All-Around Gymnast of the Week, the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association announced Wednesday.
Roe led the Bears to a season-high team score and a 189.800-187.275 victory over Utica on Sunday. She registered a career-best 9.700 to finish second on the uneven bars while earning victories on the vault, beam and in the all-around. On the vault, Roe posted a 9.775 to set a new season high. She also won the beam with a score of 9.725, tying her career best. She finished with a 9.050 on the floor to earn a final tally of 38.250 in the all-around.
The honor marked the fourth time in her career that Roe has been named the NCGA East Region All-Around Gymnast of the Week after earning the distinction twice last season. Last year, Roe earned All-American honors on the vault, uneven bars and in the all-around at nationals. She currently ranks first in the region and second in Division III in the all-around, averaging 37.919 with a season-high score of 38.500.
The Bears return to action Friday, February 13th, when they travel to West Chester University for a tri-meet with the Golden Rams and Towson University.
