WEST CHESTER, Pa. – For the second consecutive week, the Ursinus gymnastics team set a new season high as they competed in a tri-meet at West Chester University alongside Towson University.
The Bears delivered a consistent performance across the board, earning season highs in all four events and finishing with a team total of 191.950. The score marked Ursinus' highest since posting a 193.550 at the NCGA East Championships in March 2015, ranks fourth overall in Division III this season, and third best in program history.
Ursinus totaled 48.225 on the vault, 47.175 on the bars, 48.200 on the beam and 48.350 on the floor. Towson won the meet with a 195.325, while Ursinus finished second and West Chester placed third with a 191.575.
Ursinus opened on the bars and topped last week's previous season high of 46.825 by scoring 47.175, ranking second among the three teams. Junior
LeeLee Sanders paced the Bears' lineup, finishing tied for fourth with a season-high 9.650. Classmate
Erin Roe placed sixth with a 9.575, while junior
Lucy Warburton tied for eighth with a 9.500. Junior
Lauren Coleman added a 9.250 to tie for 13th, and first-year
Gigi Boivin made her collegiate debut with a 9.200.
On the beam, Ursinus posted its highest score of the season with a 48.200, its best mark since totaling a 48.350 last February. Junior Ari Ellis led the way, tying for fifth with a career-best 9.725. Sidney Schreiber (9.575) rounded out the lineup, tying for 12th and 14th, respectively.
The Bears moved over to the floor, where Schreiber continued her outstanding season by finishing fourth overall and tying a season high with a 9.850, a score that ranks tied for second in Division III this season. Sophomore
Michaela Duffy recorded a career-best 9.750 to finish ninth, while Ellis tied for 12th with a 9.675.
Ursinus closed the meet on the vault, earning a season-best 48.225. Roe led the Bears by tying for second with a season-high 9.800. Schreiber followed with a 9.725, matching her season high to place seventh, while Duffy finished ninth with a season-best 9.650. Senior

Roe finished second overall in the all-around with a season-high total of 38.550, which ranks second in Division III this season.
The Bears return to action Sunday, February 22, when they host West Chester for Senior Day beginning at 1 p.m.
