COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Following an impressive week, Ursinus men's wrestling junior
Sean Cowan was named the Centennial Conference Wrestler of the Week, as announced by the conference Tuesday morning.
Cowan went 3-0 with three pins and helped the Bears post a perfect 3-0 team record in Centennial duals last week. On Wednesday, Cowan recorded a first-period fall over Johns Hopkins' Charles Dunn, leading Ursinus to a 34-9 victory. He followed with a third-period fall against McDaniel's Isaac Ogunlade in a 36-8 win over the Green Terror. In a 40-8 victory over Gettysburg, Cowan tallied his third straight fall by pinning Phil Nave at the 6:52 mark of the match. Ursinus has won five straight dual meets and 21 consecutive Centennial matches since 2021.
The Egg Harbor City, New Jersey, native owns a 26-6 record this season and has won 16 straight matches. Cowan is currently ranked seventh at 197 pounds in Region III by the National Wrestling Coaches Association and ranks third on the team with 14 pins. It marks the second time in his career that Cowan has earned the Centennial's weekly honor and the sixth time this season an Ursinus wrestler has received the award, joining fellow juniors

The Bears return to action Thursday, February 5th, traveling to Muhlenberg College for a dual meet beginning at 7 p.m.
