COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – A pair of Ursinus gymnasts qualified for the 2026 NCGA National Championship meet as individuals following their performances yesterday at the NCGA East Regionals.
Junior
Erin Roe for all-around and senior
Sidney Schreiber on the floor and vault will be representing the Bears in two weeks at SUNY Cortland, the site of the 2065 NCGA Championships. Roe will be making her third straight appearance in the meet and Schreiber will be in her first career appearance. Roe earned her individual bid by becoming the NCGA East Regional Champion for the all-around while Schreiber garnered hers from having the top SAS for the vault in the East Region and top SAS for the vault among At-Large bids among non-qualifying National Championship teams.
Roe claimed the Bears first All-Around East Region title since 2015 yesterday after recording a winning score of 38.625. It was the culmination of a dominant season through the East Region in All-Around that has seen her set both the Ursinus and NCGA East All-Around single meet record at Towson two weeks ago of 38.950. She holds the second highest SAS this season of 38.3500 in all of NCGA to only Amara Nelson of Greenville, who earned an At-Large bid for All-Around into the Championship Meet. Roe finished sixth in the All-Around at the 2025 NCGA Championships and earned All-American honors in three separate events: the All-Around, Vault, and Bars by finishing in the top eight in all three events.
Schreiber claimed her first ever bid to the NCGA Championship by having outstanding seasons on the vault and floor. She was the top Bears gymnast on the floor yesterday and finished sixth overall with a score of 9.775. Schreiber matched Roe on the Vault yesterday as both recorded a 9.7 to tie for fifth overall. Schreiber holds a SAS of 9.7063 on the vault and a 9.8125 on the floor to solidify her hard-fought Championship spot.
Roe and Schreiber will join the other 25 individual qualifiers and gymnasts from the six qualifying NCGA Championship teams on Friday, March 20th at the NCGA National Championships that will be held at Cortland starting at 2:00 p.m. Information for the event can be found on www.ursinusathletics.com in the following weeks.
