Men's Lacrosse Caps Season with 15-6 Triumph over McDaniel

WESTMINSTER, Md. – The Ursinus Men's Lacrosse team closed out its 2026 season with a 15-6 win over McDaniel on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference action.
 
 
McDaniel scored first for the initial lead before sophomore Macky Bonner tied it at 11:06-mark to make it 1-1. The Green Terror took advantage of a lengthy Bears scoring drought to go up 4-1 at the 9:00-mark of the second quarter. Sophomore Daniel Rice ended a near 20-minute scoring drought with a goal to make it 4-2 with 6:34 left in the first half which then started a seven-goal run into the third quarter that made it 8-4 Ursinus. Senior Lars Homan scored the second goal in the run and Rice tied the game at four with an unassisted tally at the 2:51-mark. Senior Harry Sweitzer gave the Bears the lead for good just under a minute later at 5-4 and set up first-year Landon Rasmus to score with 45 seconds left that made it 6-4 at the half.
 
 
Senior Barrett Denlinger kickstarted the second half scoring after cashing in on a man-up opportunity to extend the Bears lead to 7-4 and sophomore Daniel Kupiec capped the run with a goal at the 10:28-mark of the third quarter. Ursinus responded to a Green Terror goal with a four-goal run that made it 12-5 with 7:57 left in regulation. Kupiec added his second straight tally to start the run at the 4:42-mark before first-year Nicholas Hengerer scored his first collegiate goal two minutes later. Rice capped a hat trick with his third goal of the game at the 12:29-mark of the fourth quarter and junior Nick Pomajevich concluded the run with his goal at the 7:57-mark. Rasmus scored his second goal of the game after McDaniel scored to put Ursinus up 13-6 and Denlinger followed with his second with 3:31 left in regulation to make it 14-6. First-year Keegan Borkowski ended the scoring with his first collegiate goal with 2:12 left in regulation that put the final at 15-6.
 
 
The Bears held a 39-29 shot advantage for the game and a 27-14 edge in shots on goal. Ursinus held a sizable 41-19 advantage in ground balls behind winning 19 of 22 faceoffs. Sophomore goalkeeper Colin Daroch earned the win for Ursinus after making eight saves in 56:43 of action. Rice led the Bears with three goals and Denlinger, Kupiec, and Rasmus all posted two goals apiece. Sweitzer capped his Ursinus career with three points off two assists and one goal while senior Nils Updale had a near-perfect day in the faceoff circle by winning 16-of-17 faceoffs.
