COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Ursinus Field Hockey Head Coach Janelle Benner will once again be competing on the National stage this summer for the United States in World Master's Field Hockey Tournaments.
 
 
Benner will play alongside her assistant coach, Heather Long, for the United States in the O40 Masters Field Hockey team. The World Cup Tournament will take place from July 22nd to August 1st in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Benner will also serve as a team captain and the two will be joined by fellow assistant coach, Aliki Torrence, who will be a team manager.
 
 
Following the tournament, Benner will head to Brasschaat, Belgium to coach the O60 women's Masters Field Hockey team from August 6-16 in their World Cup Tournament.
 
 
Benner and Long are no strangers to competing on the world stage with the USA Field Hockey Masters Team. Benner competed with Long with the O35 United States Masters Field Hockey Team in the 2023 Pan Am Continental Cup in Buenos Aires, Argentina and 2022 World Masters Hockey (WMH) World Cup in England. Benner was the head coach for the U.S. Over-55 team for the 2018 World Cup held in Spain. That same year, Long competed for the first time on the Over-35 team in the World Cup. The duo was selected to the Over-35 team in 2020 before the games were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
 
 
 Benner will begin her 15th season as the Head Coach of the Bears and led the team to their 21st-straight Centennial Conference Tournament appearance. Long will enter her sixth season on Benner's staff while Torrence is back for her third straight season as an assistant.
