CAMDEN, N.J. – The Ursinus Volleyball team ripped off three straight set wins after dropping the first to defeat Rutgers-Camden (23-25, 25-15, 28-26, 25-23) on Thursday night in non-conference action.

Molly Stevenson led the Bears with 13 kills and recorded nine digs while adding three blocks. First-year
Madison Small posted 12 kills and tallied a season-high 16 digs and senior
Alexa Mazzeo registered a team-high 22 digs along with posting three assists. Sophomore
Lauren McGinn paced the offense with 33 assists while adding seven digs and two kills.
Ursinus took an early 5-2 lead in the first set and eventually extended it out to 10-4. However, the Scarlet Raptors won 10 of the next 12 points to take the lead at 14-12. Rutgers-Camden went up 18-14 before the Bears rallied back with five straight points to go up 19-18. The set of runs continued as Rutgers-Camden won six straight points to go up 24-19 and survived an Ursinus rally of four straight points after an attack error.
The Bears won three straight points after trailing 4-2 to go up 5-4 but the Scarlet Raptors won six of the next seven points to go up 10-6. Ursinus put together a run that saw them win 19 of 24 points to level the match at one which started by winning six of the next seven points to go up 12-11. The Bears led 16-14 and won nine of the last 10 points to close out the set.
After back-and-forth action to start the third set, the Scarlet Raptors won five straight points to go up 8-4 to only be answered by four straight Ursinus points to tie the set at eight. Rutgers-Camden took five of the next seven points to go up 13-10 and the Bears countered again with four straight points to go up 14-13. The Scarlet Raptors seemed to gain control by winning six of the eight points to go up 19-16, but the Bears won seven straight points to go up 23-19 behind taking advantage of five attack errors. Rutgers-Camden won three straight to get within one point at 23-22 and the Bears reached set point following a ball handling error. However, the Scarlet Raptors forced extra points by tying the set at 24. Senior
Alonna McCummings got a kill to put Ursinus up 25-24 before the Scarlet Raptors reached set point of their own at 26-25. Once again mistakes allowed the Bears to take advantage as they stole the set off a service error plus two attack errors.
Ursinus won the first three points of the fourth set to only see the Scarlet Raptors take six of the next seven points to go up 6-4. The Bears won five of six points after trailing 7-5 to go up 10-8 before the Scarlet Raptors won five straight points to go up 13-10. Ursinus won five straight points to go up 15-13 and eventually went up 19-15. The Bears went up 23-19 and staved off a rally by the Scarlet Raptors after they cut the lead down to 24-23 to win the match that was locked up by another attack error.

th as they will travel to face Moravian at 7:00 p.m.
