COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Behind scoring a pair of goals, Ursinus men's soccer sophomore forward
Eliot Bowen was named Centennial Conference men's soccer offensive player of the week, announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Bowen scored in each game to lead Ursinus to victories over William Paterson and McDaniel. Against William Paterson on Tuesday, Bowen scored in the fourth minute, sparking the Bears to a 2-0 shutout victory. On Saturday against McDaniel, Bowen once again opened the scoring by notching a goal in the 16th minute to lead Ursinus to a 2-1 victory. The victory over McDaniel marked the Bears' first over McDaniel since a 3-2 win in 2021.
The Jefferson Township, Pennsylvania native has registered a point in three of his four appearances this season since missing the first four games of the season. Bowen currently ranks tied for second on the team with two goals and tied for third with five points.
He becomes the first Bear this season to earn the conference's weekly honor and the first since Joshua Coster was named Defensive Player of the Week in September of 2023. Last season, Bowen appeared in all 17 games for Ursinus, ranking second on the team with four points.
The Bears return to action on Wednesday, hosting No. 25 Haverford College at 7:30 pm. from Patterson Field.
