SENIOR (2022): Appeared in seven games...Recorded 16 tackles (five solo) and 0.5 TFL...Registered career-high four tackles (one solo) against Susquehanna (10/1)...Assisted on three tackles versus McDaniel (10/14)...Matched career-high of four tackles (one solo) versus Moravian (10/22)...Posted three tackles (one solo) and 0.5 TFL against Juniata (11/5).

JUNIOR (2021): Appeared in six games...Posted five total tackles (four solo)...Made one sack....Made one tackle against Moravian (10/22)...Made career-high three tackles (two solo) with one sack versus Juniata (11/6)...Posted a tackle against Lycoming (11/20).

SOPHOMORE (2020): Season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.

FRESHMAN (2019): Appeared in two games, making first career tackle in debut against McDaniel (11/2)

Before Ursinus: Three-time First-team All-Conference (2016, 2017, 2018) on the defensive line. 

Personal: Born October 26, 2000 ... Son of David Payne and Belinda Young-Payne ... Has two sisters, Mariah and Haley Wells ... Father, David, played baseball at Virgnia State ...  Health and Exercise Physiology major. 

Why Ursinus: I chose Ursinus because it was a smaller school which was like my high school. Ursinus also has great academics that are going to challenge me to be a better student.  Also, I chose Ursinus for the community. It’s a smaller campus that will allow me to get to know many people very quickly. Lastly, I chose Ursinus for the football aspect of the college. The football team is a great disciplined, well rounded, and straight to the point type of team and that’s what I like about it. That is why I chose Ursinus.
