Sydney Gonzalez returns to her alma mater as an Assistant Coach in 2022.
Prior to returning to Ursinus, Gonzalez served as Assistant Coach for Rider University women’s volleyball team for the 2021-2022 season and helped them reach the finals of the MAAC Championship.
From 2019 – 2022, Gonzalez was head coach of both the Hillsborough High School Freshman girls volleyball team and the JV boys volleyball team. She also coached 16U National boys and girls teams at her home club of CJVA in Flemington, NJ where she played and started as a Youth Development coach in 2013. Additional coaching stints include a season at Club Integrity and many camps including, ECBVA Beach Camp, Gold Medal with Misty May, High Performance Camp, and Ursinus Volleyball Camp.
Gonzalez was a 4-year starting libero and senior captain for the UCVB team from 2015 – 2108; two of those seasons under the direction of Head Coach Cecily Scavicchio Tomeo. While at Ursinus, Gonzalez was a 3-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, a participant in the Centennial Conference's Snell-Shillingford Coaching Symposium, a 3 time member of the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll, and a member of the Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society.
Gonzalez graduated Cum Laude from Ursinus in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Media and Communications and earned her master’s degree in Sports Administration from Arkansas State University where she graduated with honors in 2021.
