READING, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's tennis team
won their third straight match today, earning a 7-2 win over
Alvernia in non-conference play.
The Bears (3-4) won two of three doubles matches to start the
day. At number two flight, junior Greg Lewis (Syracuse,
N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) and freshman
Chris Wyshock (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock
Township) defeated Nathan Bauer and Ryan Lineaweaver, 8-5.
At number three flight, senior Josh Hollaman (Stratford,
Conn./Bunnell) and senior Jason Zerbe (Berwick,
Pa./Berwick) defeated Kenneth Dearstyne and Zachary Marsar
8-6.
In singles play, Ursinus took five out of six matches. At number
two flight, junior Kevin Dean (Vernon, N.J./Vernon
Township) defeated Lineaweaver, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. At number
three flight, Wyshock defeated Jed Spangler, 6-2, 6-1.
At number four flight, freshman Sean Kelley (Hershey,
Pa./Hershey) defeated Bauer, 6-3, 6-2. Zerbe won his match
at number five flight over William Gerber, 6-1, 6-0. Finally,
Hollaman defeated Adam Lush at number six flight, 6-1, 6-0.
