COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Gettysburg won all three doubles
matches and all six singles matches in a 9-0 win over Ursinus on
Saturday afternoon in men's tennis play.
Gettysburg improved to 8-6, 3-4 in the Centennial with the win,
while Ursinus fell to 7-10 overall and 0-7 in the Centennial with
the loss.
At number one singles, Chris Curran defeated junior Kevin Dean
(Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township), 6-1, 6-1, with Terry Keegan
defeating freshman Chris Wyshock (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock
Township) at number two singles, 6-0, 6-0.
At number three singles, Mike McLaughlin defeated freshman Sean Kelley (Hershey, Pa./Hershey), 6-1, 6-1, followed by a 6-4, 7-6
(7-1) win at number four flight by Sebastian Rodriguez over senior
Jason Zerbe (Berwick, Pa./Berwick).
At number five flight, Kevin Raynes defeated senior Josh Hollaman (Stratford, Conn./Bunnell), 6-3, 6-0, with Will Brinks
defeating freshman Nick Rall (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) at
number six flight, 6-1, 6-3.
In doubles, Keegan and Rodriguez defeated Kelley and senior
Bennett MacLaughlin (Gaithersburg, Md./Bullis School), 9-7, at
number one flight. At number two flight, Curran and McLaughlin
defeated Wyshock and junior Greg Lewis (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian
Brothers Academy), 8-0.
At number three flight, Raynes and Brinks defeated Zerbe and
Hollaman, 8-4.
