Box Score FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Ursinus College women's soccer team got its first win of the 2011 season, doubling up Bard by a 2-1 score in the second day of the Farmingdale State Tournament on Long Island.
Senior midfielder Jess Porcelan (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) scored both goals for the Bears (1-1) starting with a goal in the third minute as she scored off of a rebound for the early lead. Her second goal came in the 19th minute on an assist via a freshman midfielder Valerie Bedrock (Waldwick, N.J./Ramsey) corner kick.
Bard scored in the 79th minute as Maddy Huggins scored unassisted.
Sophomore Natasha Tonia (Franklinville, N.J./Saint Joseph High School) got the win in goal for Ursinus, making four saves.
Ursinus will host Moravian on Wednesday.
