Doubling Up

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's tennis team won its second straight match as the Bears (10-8) defeated Division II West Chester (8-8) 6-3 on Wednesday night in non-conference play.

The Bears swept all three doubles matches as Evan Stuchin and Matt Hope defeated Andrew Peterson and Cody Leimback at number one flight, 8-5. The team of Evan Lord and Logan Metcaf-Kelly defeated Steve Hlava and David Goldenberg 8-4 at number two flight, while Mike Melchiorre and David Rowe defeated Brandon Oyama and Joseph Cooke, 8-1 at number three flight.

Stuchin defeated Chaz Irwin at number one singles, 6-2, 6-3, while Lord defeated Peterson at number two flight, 6-3, 6-4. Metcalf-Kelly defeated Cooke, 6-4, 6-1 at number five flight.

Ursinus will host McDaniel and Rutgers-Camden on Saturday.
