STEVENSON, MD. – Senior
Morgan Raley had a magnificent game, scoring the first two goals of the contest as the Ursinus College women's soccer team defeated Stevenson University 4-0 on Sunday afternoon.
With the win, the Bears move to 2-0 on the season meanwhile the Mustangs of the MAC Commonwealth Conference drop to 0-2.
Just two minutes into the contest, on the counterattack sophomore
Olivia Losurdo sent a through ball down the near sideline finding
Carlie Shiller. The sophomore forward followed with a cross into the box, finding Raley who capitalized to make the score 1-0. The Bears continued the offensive pressure in the first half, as
Alicia Page had a breakaway opportunity in the 42
nd minute but, her shot went off the left woodwork to keep the lead at one heading into halftime. At the break, the Bears held a slight edge in shots 8-4 while the Mustangs held a 1-0 advantage in corner opportunities.
In the second half, the Mustangs had a chance to tie the game in the 50
th minute but a left-footed shot from first year Kamille Purcell was saved by
Kaela Frenchman. In the 78
th minute, Raley would score her second goal of the game after
Alex Chalmers had her shot blocked, Raley collected the rebound and tucked her shot just out the reach from the Mustangs goalkeeper. The Bears continued the offensive pressure and just seven minutes later junior
Hannah Brainsky created space with a touch and fired a left footed shot to make the score 3-0.
With three minutes remaining, first-year Kali Roskos found
Ciara Rago who delivered a laser into the top right corner of the net for her second career goal making the score 4-0.
Junior goalkeeper
Kaela Frenchman earned the shutout in net, her second of the season while collecting two saves. Stevenson's goalkeeper Wysokowski faced ten shots on goal, earning six saves. Ursinus outshot the mustangs 16-6 while each team finished with two corner opportunities

The Bears will return to action on Wednesday as they host Arcadia University for their 2022 home opener from Patterson Field at 7:30pm.
