COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus Men's Lacrosse team did not allow a goal in the second half as they pulled away for a 10-3 triumph over DeSales on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at Patterson Field.
With the win, the Bears improved to 4-1 overall as they earned their third-straight victory. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs fell to 0-5 overall.

Tyler Neal made a statement early by notching the Bears first two goals of the game within a span of 39 seconds to give the Bears a 2-0 lead at the 10:53-mark of the first quarter. Sophomore
Christopher Pucciarelli extended the advantage just 1:25 later before the Bears cashed in on a man-up opportunity just 40 seconds later when senior
Jeremy Calabro scored his first of the game. DeSales scored on a man-up opportunity of their own at the 1:09-mark of the first quarter to cut the deficit down to 4-1. Neal got the goal back for the Bears at the 10:21-mark of the second quarter with a turnaround shot to make it 5-1, but the Bulldogs ended the second quarter with some momentum by notching a pair of goals in the final minute while holding the Bears without a goal.
However, it was all Bears in the second half as they shut the Bulldogs out for 30 minutes while out-shooting them, 28-7. Neal recorded his fourth goal of the game off a quick clear at the 10:52-mark and the Bears earned a man-up opportunity following a long possession. Senior
Tyler Falco beat the Bulldogs goalkeeper to make it 7-3 at the 8:13-mark. Junior
Brett Wilkinson kept the red-hot Bears man-up rolling just 53 seconds later as he scored to extend the Ursinus lead to 8-3. The Bears kept the DeSales offense struggling into the fourth quarter and Wilkinson notched his second man-up goal at the 10:24-mark, making it 9-3. Pucciarelli capped the day for the Bears by adding his second goal with 4:25 left in regulation.
The Bears held a 52-26 shot advantage for the game and a 28-12 edge in shots on goal. Ursinus held a 37-28 advantage in ground balls and caused 26 Bulldog turnovers. Bears junior goalkeeper
Jonathan Singer earned the win after making nine saves and allowing just three goals. For the week, Singer allowed just five goals in two games. Quinten Lyons suffered the loss after making 18 saves in the full 60 minutes.
Neal registered a game-high six points after scoring four goals and recording two assists. Wilkinson and Pucciarelli each tallied two goals in the win for the Bears.
Ursinus returns to action on Saturday, March 11th as they will travel to Homewood Field at Johns Hopkins to take on No. 1 ranked RIT at 5:00 p.m.
