COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – In their first action in over a month, the Ursinus Men's Indoor Track & Field team returned to action on Saturday at the annual Collegeville Classic in the Floy Lewis Bakes Center.
The Bears finished second in the overall team standings with 108 points and was first among the attending Division III schools. Division II West Chester finished just ahead of the Bears with 116 points.
Ursinus saw two athletes gain first place finishes or place first among Division III athletes competing in the event. Sophomore
James Sims III won the high jump after clearing the bar at 1.88 meters while two other Bears scored top-five finishes. First-year
Jaxon Geddio placed third with a mark of 1.78 meters and sophomore
David Piotrowski came in fifth with a mark of 1.78 meters. Sophomore
Liam Johnston earned the other first place for the Bears on the day by winning the mile with a time of 4:24.53.
Sophomore
Aiden Tobin recorded a personal best 7.02 in the 60 meter dash that was good for second overall and first among Division III athletes in the race. Senior
Daniel Tabor crossed the line in seventh with a time of 7.13. Junior
Devon Greaves set a new personal best fastest time in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.80 that was good for third overall. First-year
Logan Downs impressed in the 55 meters with a time of 7.60 that was the top time among Division III athletes and fourth overall. Senior
Collin Ney placed seventh in the 200 meters with a time of 23.42 to round out the sprints.
In throws, junior
Chase Shaneman registered a career best throw of 15.53 meters to finish second overall in the meet and now paces the Centennial Conference with that mark. Junior
Tom Wood finished third in the shot put with his throw of 13.95 meters and placed sixth in the weight throw with on his mark of 13.70 meters. Senior
Parker Howell finished sixth in the shot put on his throw of 12.78 meters and sophomore
Deane Leader placed ninth on a personal best mark of 12.21 meters.
Junior
Ken Komatsu tied for second in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 4.10 meters and topped all Division III athletes in the event. Seniors
Daniel Tabor and
Michael Agbeye finished back-to-back in the long jump with marks of 6.53 and 6.39, respectively.
Junior
David Kenny led a host of Bears in the 800 meters with his time of 1:58.45 that was good for second overall and first among Division III runners. Junior
Paul Faggioli finished fourth with a time of 2:01.61 and was followed by classmate
Christian Rosado in sixth with a time of 2:09.13. Junior
Zachary Cosme finished sixth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:16.20.

Sean Bowers finished fifth with a time of 3:42.06.
The Bears return to action on Friday, January 26th as they will open up at the two-day Patriot Games hosted by George Mason University.
