CARLISLE, Pa. – Two goals over the final 14 minutes of play proved to be the difference as the Ursinus College women's soccer dropped a heartbreaker, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon from Biddle Field.

Maddie Jolie scored the lone goal for the Bears, her first collegiate score to give Ursinus an early first half lead. Dickinson added a goal off a set piece during the 75th minute from Norah Heacock, before Lila Brown's goal in the 86th allowed the Red Devils to escape with a 2-1 decision.

Paige Flaugh recorded a shot wide right of the net during the 13th minute. Carideo answered for the Bears by collecting back-to-back saves during the 16th and 23rd minute. At the 16:41-mark, Dickinson's Ava Prisco fired a left-footed shot that deflected off the foot of Carideo and off the far post to keep the contest with 28:12 remaining in the half. At the 33:54-mark on a corner kick opportunity, Dickinson was unable to clear a loose ball and Jolie tapped in the rebound for the opening goal of the contest. The Red Devils tallied three more shots over the remainder of the half, but the Bears defense denied each opportunity and held a 1-0 halftime advantage.
Dickinson tallied the first two shots of the second half as Carideo and the Bears defense collected a pair of saves to keep Ursinus ahead by one with 39:32 remaining in the second half. The Red Devils broke through during the 75th minute as they capitalized off a corner kick chance to tie the game at one apiece. On the set piece, Dickinson's Emily Dunkel sent a long arching cross into the box finding Heacock on a header towards the far-left post for the equalizer. Kaleigh Evans recorded a shot off target to keep the contest tied. With under four minutes to play, Dunkel once again assisted on a corner opportunity, but this time Brown connected on the goal to give Dickinson a 2-1 advantage enroute to the victory.
The Red Devils held a 9-1 advantage via shots on goal and a 6-5 edge in corner kick opportunities. Senior netminder
Mandy Carideo suffered the loss in goal behind seven saves, including five of them in the second half. Meanwhile, Dickinson's Sophia Kavulich earned the after allowing one shot on goal.
The Bears return to action on Wednesday, October 30th as they host Muhlenberg College for a 7:30 p.m. start from Patterson Field. Ursinus will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday, November 2nd as they host Gettysburg.
