ASHLAND, Va. – The Ursinus Men's Basketball team never looked back from a fast start as they dominated Brevard 91-67 in the opening game of Randolph-Macon's Suyes Yellow Jackets Classic on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Bears improved to 6-4 overall and will advance to the championship game tomorrow afternoon. Meanwhile, the Tornados of the USA South Conference fall to 5-3 overall.

Trevor Wall picked up right where he left off last weekend as he led all scorers with 21 points behind going 8-of-14 from the field and 4-of-8 from three-point range. He added five rebounds and three steals in addition to notching his fifth straight 20+ point game. Junior
Mohamed Toure netted 15 points behind going 5-of-9 from the field along with posting four rebounds, two assists, and two steals while first-year
Jamie Murphy and sophomore
Matthew Field recorded 11 points apiece off the bench. Senior

Brevard opened the game by knocking down back-to-back three-pointers to go up 6-0 before Ursinus quickly scored eight straight points to go up 8-6 at the 17:38-mark. After some back and forth action that left the score tied at 12, the Bears surged ahead with a 23-5 run and went up 35-17 at the 6:24-mark of the second half. Ursinus continued to pull away from the Tornados as they stretched their lead out to as many as 22 points in the first half. The Bears led 42-26 with 2:35 left in the first half and closed the first 20 minutes out with an 8-2 run to take a 50-28 lead into halftime.
Ursinus took a 64-38 lead at the 15:52-mark of the second half following eight straight points and did not let its lead fall below 20 points the rest of the way following that run. The Bears went up by as many as 31 points at 86-55 with 3:22 left in regulation and cruised to a 24-point win.
The Bears shot 55.4 percent (36-of-65) from the field behind shooting 55 percent in both halves. Ursinus went 38.5 percent (10-of-26) from three-point range and 60 percent (9-of-15) from the free throw line. The Bears held a whopping 43-27 rebounding advantage that led to an 18-6 second chance point advantage. Meanwhile, the Tornados shot 38.1 percent (24-of-63) from the field and just 26.7 percent from beyond the arc. Brevard went a near perfect 11-of-12 (91.7%) from the free throw line.
Ursinus advances to face host Randolph-Macon in the Championship Game tomorrow, December 29th at 2:30 p.m.
